As time passes, I'm coming to the realization that I probably have a blown (or rather, slightly leaking) head gasket. Well, there's no hardcore proof of this just yet as the block tester didn't detect it. I'm going to try a sniffer test next. But guys, the water problem just wont go away...it has to be this. First off, let me tell EVERYONE that I have NO desire to put a TT motor in this Z. Why? Put simply, if I want a TT I want a new car altogether. This car has a ton of miles on the chassis, body panels that are separating and showing age, etc. Plus A) I want a 5-speed and B) I want to try out a new color. Back to the point. This is the worst conceivable time EVER EVER EVER for this to happen. I have a paint appointment next week for the front end, sent my money to the Z convention, registered for a few shows out here, have a Dent Group Buy scheduled next month and have a TON of other Z things going on. End result? I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and pay to have the head gasket fixed. That's right kids, pulling my NA motor and putting back IN an NA motor. Something I never wanted to do, EVER. Jesus, this sucks. I talked with some people today and weighed my options. I've spent a ton on this car already and I don't want to pay for this. I need to draw a line. However, everything else is so damn new on the car...the 60K has just been done, great compression, tranny is new and beefed up, engine bay, stereo, etc. It's prime. If I spend a few more K's I can (at least, on paper) keep the Z train going a while longer until I get the house/TT/etc. Everyone please remember, I do NOT want a TT just yet. Life priorities first. It kills me though. Either I sell it and drive a beater for a year or two or I fix it and drive IT for a year or two and actually have some resale value. I guess the next question is, what to do with the engine out? Lord, if I have to go that far, what do I do while in there? What list of things are a PAIN without pulling the engine? I'm speaking more about longevity, "free" mods, recommended part removals, etc. Maybe I should slap on some headers lol (god, I'm hopeless). Seriously, speak up.
